Ohio Sales Tax Setup for PLLC, Professional Corporation, LLP, LLC, Corporation

If you sell tangible personal property or taxable services in Ohio, you are required to register with the Department of Taxation to collect and pay sales tax. If you are an out-of-state entity with at least 200 transactions or $100,000 in Ohio sales for the current or previous calendar year, you have substantial nexus for the purpose of sales tax.

    Log in to Ohio Business Gateway with your OH ID account to apply online for a sales tax account.

If you have a sales tax account in Ohio, you have to file sales tax returns electronically. Businesses typically file monthly; those with less than $1,200 in sales tax liability in a six-month period may be permitted to file semi-annually (every six months). You must file a return by the deadline, even if you made no sales and/or no tax is due.
