Maine Sales Tax Exemption Setup for Corporation

Maine only provides specific exemptions for organizations such as hospitals, schools, churches and libraries. Qualifying nonprofit organizations must submit the relevant application to Maine Department of Revenue Services and provide the information and documents specified in the application. The requirements for exempt status vary depending on the particular exemption being applied for.

    Log in to your Maine Tax Portal account and register for a sales tax account.

  2. Receive Certificates and Confirmation Letter

    Maine Revenues Services will mail you certificates for Sales and/or Service Provider tax registrations and a confirmation letter for Use Tax registrations within 20 business days.
