How to Register for Payroll Tax in Cincinnati

Cincinnati, Ohio Local Withholding Tax Setup for Professional Corporation, LLP, LLC, Corporation

Employers are required to register with the City of Cincinnati Income Tax Division to withhold income tax from the qualifying wages of employees working in Cincinnati, even if they are remote. If less than $2,400 will be withheld for the year, you must pay taxes on a quarterly basis. If $2,400 to $11,999 will be withheld for the year, you must pay taxes on a monthly basis. If $12,000 or more will be withheld for the year, you must pay taxes on a semi-monthly basis. Note: As of 2024, the income of employees under eighteen years of age is exempt and not taxable.
